Our 2nd annual Integrating Faith Service & Justice with Young Adults gathering is May 17-20, 2012. If you work or volunteer with young adults in campus, parish, diocesan, religious organization, or faith-based non-profit settings, this gathering is for you! Please register online to join us.
We have a top-notch group of presenters ready to share their wisdom about working with young adult Catholics in the trifecta of faith, service, and justice:
Melissa Cidade, Director of Pastoral Assistance Surveys and Services at the Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate (CARA), will discuss her research on young adult Catholics and what they seek in Church.
Gregory Coogan, Director of the Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry at the Diocese of Camden, will talk about why there seems to be a diversion between devotion and justice, and what we can do to help close the gap.
Marie Dennis, Co-President of Pax Christi International, will explore practical ways to move from doing service to advocating for justice.
Patrick Donovan, Executive Director of the Office of Catholic Youth Ministry for the Diocese of Wilmington, has published many books about using media in ministry, and will share his tips and tricks on using storytelling in ministry.
Dan Joyce, SJ, Assistant to the Vice President for Mission and Identity at St. Joseph’s University and faculty member of Faith-Justice Studies and Service Learning, will guide participants through the pastoral circle.
Mike Laskey, Program Coordinator at the Center for FaithJustice, will help us to define our ministry and what it means to fully integrate faith, service, and justice. Widian Nicola, Program Coordinator, will help participants build faithjustice tool kits to use in their ministries.
Fr. Mike McCue, OSFS from DeSales Service Works, will celebrate a Catholic Social Teaching Mass to help orient participants to liturgy as the intersection of faith, service, and justice.
Kate Giancatarino, and Jenna Cucco, Campus Ministers at St. John’s University and Villanova University, respectively, will facilitate group sharing on difficulties and strategies faced in young adult ministry.
Plus, you’ll hear from our fantastic panel of young adults who are actively engaged in three models of young adult ministry rooted in faith, service and justice:
The gathering will also include opportunities for prayer, networking, and service in Camden, NJ. Join us!
